Unlocked iPhone Is Coming To France…

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This is where I would throw a French word to impress you guys on my knowledge of the French language. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for you guys, I have no clue at all about French or anything Frenchish. But, good news for our Apple maniacs from France. Apple is going to have to offer unlocked iPhones to the nation of France as there is a French law that forbids Apple from locking customers to a long-term contract. Of course, the price wil be a little bit higher than a locked iPhone, but I suppose it is well worth it. Now, why Apple didn’t do this in the U.S. is a whole other discussion.

Hooray! It’s time to build an app for iPhones!

If you are a developer, and you have been dying to have the ability to develop and deploy an application for iPhone, then your lucky day has come. Steve Jobs announced yesterday that iPhone will finally be open to third party applications. Here is what Steve had to say about this:

We think a few months of patience now will be rewarded by many years of great third-party applications running on safe and reliable iPhone.”

But you can’t do this just yet. According to Jobs, Apple will need till February to get its things together before opening up iPhone to third-party developers.  This is certainly good news for iPhone fans and owners. iPhone is more than just a phone. It’s like an ultimate ultimate mobile PC. A savvy user can do so many things with iPhone that a lot of non-tech guys couldn’t do with their PCs in their homes. By opening up iPhone to third-party users, Apple now has a chance to grow iPhone to a huge platform with unlimited possibilities.  Read the rest of this entry »

Will $99 Zune Kill iPhod?

Microsoft’s latest attempt to kill iPod? Undersell Zune’s so that people think about their pocket before thinking about the iPhoneness (that shininess that has crazed us all) of Apple iPod. The problem for Microsoft is that Zune and iPod (and iPhone for that matter) are not really made for the same people. Zune is made for people who can’t work their away around even Windows. For people who are hooked on Microsoft because they don’t know any better. For people who believe whatever Microsoft tells them such as stories about how Zune outperforms iPod in most performance departments. Read the rest of this entry »

Is iPhone a Deadly Phone?

OK. Maybe iPhone is a phone to die for, but is that literally so now? Sources are claiming that pressure is mounting on Apple Corp. to investigate the accusations that chemicals in iPhone cause cancer and other harms to their holders. In fact, GreenPeace is threatening to sue Apple for the use of hazardous chemicals in making iPhone. Some of you may have seen the commercial in which the guy claims that iPhone is his livelihood. Well, it may soon take his livelihood too! I do think that this whole thing is being exaggerated, do not get rid of your iPhones just yet (You can always send them to me… )

Should Apple Compensate It’s Savvy Users?

Apple Store

All you Apple fans should know that you are considered by most people to be more tech savvy than so-called Windows gurus. So shouldn’t Apple know this already? The fact that it’s customer base is hands-on and ready to take on any challenge that is thrown at it… Apple dropped the ball by coming up with an update that would brick iPhones that were hacked by Apple gurus. Why would you flip out your loyal customers for being curious and savvy enough to break out of at&t’s horrible service web. Read the rest of this entry »
