Australia’s iPhone Pricing Revealed

Optus has just released their pricing for the 3G iPhones in Australia. According to Australian IT you can get the 8GB iPhone for free if you go with a premium service plan. You can also choose to go prepaid and pay up $729 for the black iPhone 8GB or $849 for the 16GB iPhone 3G.

Pretty hefty, eh? It seems Apple’s strategy to target both prepaid and post-paid customers is not only for the U.S. Now I am sure a lot of people can’t afford to pay $900 for a phone, but it’s good to have that option.

Here is the full story.

Feeling For GTalk On Your iPhone?

Google’s plan for the world domination seems to be going ahead full steam with their latest announcement that they have released Google Talk for the iPhone and iPod touch. Here is the deal:

We’ve just released in the US a new version of Google Talk designed specifically for the iPhone and iPod Touch browsers. In addition to sending your friends Gmail messages from your iPhone, you can now chat with them while you’re on the move, too! In your iPhone browser, just go to www.google.com/talk, sign in and start chatting. That’s it. Google Talk runs entirely in the browser so there’s no need to download or install anything.

The only issue with this is that your browser needs to be open for you to be to chat or your status would be “unavailable.” Besides, I guess it depends if you like chatting on your phone. I still pretty much prefer the desktop chat but I guess for quick short message it wouldn’t hurt.
