TheFind Comes To iPhone

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It’s no surprise that anyone who is anyone is coming up with applicatinos with the iPhone. TheFind is the latest company that has created their version of iPhone Application. I personally use theFind to figure out what items are more popular around the web, but I have not used it to shop around. Having said that, it is going to be very useful to people who can’t help but shop all the time! The good folks at TechCrunch have the story on the private Beta.

Apple MobileMe Can’t Get a Break

MobileMe can’t seem to get a break these days. First we had the whole opening day debacle with MobileMe. Now we have to deal with the outages that even Apple can’t help but acknowledge. Here are the hate mails coming from around the net:

Bank Of America Keep Up With their Tradition

Having worked in the financial industry, I can tell you that Bank of America is one of the most (if not the most) innovative financial institutions that is out there. They keep taking advantage of new technologies to push their brand and products. This time they have done it again with the iPhone. They not only have created an online banking mobile application to be used on the iPhone, they have created a site (a simple one) in BofA.mobi for everyone interested in doing mobile banking. There is a catch though. You’ve got to be a customer. But you already knew that.

Unlocked iPhone 3G’s on eBay Spotted

If you haven’t bought your iPhone yet, and you are not willing to wait another month or so to get your hands on it, then you’ve got a way out. You’ve got eBay! The thing about eBayers is that they have gotten so greedy that they are actually making buying hot things a little tough for the rest of us. That’s their business though.

Nevertheless, you can find “unlocked” iPhone 3Gs such as this one on eBay. Now here is the thing. You can get an unlocked phone for $800. Now the question is how unlocked. I am not sure if these are the same unlocked phones sold by AT&T. Some of them probably are, and these guys are hoping to make $400 or so profit by selling these for $1000 or more. But I would be aware of the iPhones that have been tampered with. In essence, if an iPhone is changed on a software level, you always leave yourself open to having a brick when the next Apple update comes out. So, don’t go buying any iPhone that you see on eBay. I also think that buying an iPhone that you KNOW you don’t need should be illegal with maximum penalty of 2 years in Guantanamo Bay. But that’s another story for another day.
