iPhone: The Missing Manual: Covers the iPhone 3G (Missing Manual)

iPhone: The Missing Manual: Covers the iPhone 3G is finally going to be released. If you are familiar with the first book, you know that it was a great collection of for dummies tips plus some cool pointers on how to user your iPhone more productively. The new updated books is set to be released on August 13th. It’s one of many books set to be released this fall, but the best one for iPhone beginners and those who are not necessarily want to be programmers.

Apple to Launch iPhone Nano?

This is really a rumor right now, but one that is gaining momentum fast. Apple has been known for launching multiple products in a year, and the Christmas time is the time were people go crazy and beyond their means to get cool toys. DailyMail is reporting that Apple will indeed be releasing a new iPhone ( a nano one) to complement their current iPhone line up. I guess it will be worth it to some of us. But Apple is seriously milking this whole mini-micro-nano concept. Why am I not surprised?

iPhone Still Locked In with AT&T

I was absolutely sure that at&t would not allow us to use their so called unlocked iPhones with other phone providers. SprintConnection has some interesting details about the deal that is going on between Apple and AT&T and it’s a must read. No T-mobile till 2010? I guess by then we can use iPhone 4.0 with T-mobile.

Latest Released iPhone Apps

Two more iPhone Apps were released during the weekend, though both were updated versions of previous software and not exactly new applications:

  • Fotomatic: Fotmatic has been updated for the iPhone 2.0 platform. This little cool app will make slideshows out of your FaceBook or other social media images. In the new version, the functionality and user interface has been improved. You can use Flickr, FaceBook, or Picasa images on your iPhone with this app. The downside? $4.99 fee! I am not sure I can justify the price even though it’s really cheap.
  • Little Pine Tree: Really an app for kids as it reads story to your children. I am not sure I want my iPhone to read stories to my kids as I think the bond would be stronger if you suck it up and do it yourself. It’s $0.99 so if you must have it, it’s not that expensive.
