Microsoft Dismisses Apple’s Success with the iPhone

Just when you think Microsoft is ready to finally stop playing catch up and realize its flawed strategy, an executive comes out and claims things that you know are not true. Microsoft has claimed again that Apple’s success with the iPhone is nothing to brag about as they are strategizing to level the competition with Apple. I personally think the only way for Microsoft to effectively play ball with Apple is by either hiring Steve Jobs (not going to happen) or by changing the way the approach the business.

Microsoft has achieved a lot of success by following what others do and try to outduel them in their own backyard. But you cannot do that with Apple. Apple is no small company that can be tossed around by Microsoft. Has Microsoft a chance to dominate the mobile market? It’s possible, but I have yet to see a clear strategy for Microsoft beside immitating the market leaders.  So no. Microsoft will not kill the iPhone just like Zune did not kill the iPod. Next!

All Is Well for Apple & AT&T

Financial issues? Economy in a melt-down mode? No problem. Not for Apple anyway. While Yahoo! and many other companies have had to tighten their budget and even cut their workforces, Apple again surpassed the expectations by the street folks though it will not reach its lofty goals next quarter.

Network World Explain:

Apple posted revenue of $7.9 billion and profit of $1.1 billion, compared to revenue of $6.2 billion and profit of $904 million for the same quarter a year ago.

Apple will probably feel the effect the economic crisis but it is so strong financially that I don’t believe they will be moved. I think the bigger question for Apple is all the rumors that Steve Jobs is saying goodbye (Steve, don’t leave us now. I am begging ya!).

Keep It Simple with ColorSutra App

The latest iPhone application seems to be the most useful one. At least for me. I got a confession to make. I am partially color blind, which means I can’t tell the difference between Blue and Purple. Think about it. If you are a web designer and also color  blind, you have no future in the business. I have always used sampling features that come with Photoshop and other web applications to help me out. But now I am glad that iPhone now has an app that allows you to take a picture with your camera and sample the colors in the picture.

You can also play with the color wheel till your dead tired. ColorSutra is compatible with HEX, and RGB numbers, so you can put down the number and use the color in the future. It’s a very cool application that has been updated for full compatibility with the latest version of iPhone OS. Check it out!
