Happy New Year

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

2008 was a rocky year by all accounts. The year started as a promising one and ended with the economy in turmoil. We saw the rise of iPhone 3G, and the rumors of Steve Job’s death. Looking back at it, I haven’t had this much fun in years, and we are just getting started. 2009 promises to be another tough year for a lot of us. But hopefully we are going to have some questions answered as far as Apple is concerned:

  • Will we see Steve Jobs stand down as Apple’s top executive?
  • Will we see iPhone 3.0?
  • Will Apple move into the ebook market?
  • Will Apple go Nano with the iPhone?
  • Will we see a new link of Macbooks?
  • Apple + Blu-ray?

There are of course many other questions to be answered in the new year, and it’s exciting to think about the possibilities. What do you think?

Should You Wait for iPhone Nano?

I know. Apple has spoiled us in the past few years. New products keep popping up from left and right, and this all has brough some indecision forward. Now a few folks who still have not bought their iPhones are claiming to be waiting for the iPhone Nano. Now Apple is truly great in getting the most out of their every idea. We had iPod, iPod mini, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle. Heck, we could have had an iPod Atom as the first atomic Mp3 player.

But a few experts are claiming that Apple will never release iPhone Nano. Forgive me for being skeptical about that. Apple needs to refresh its products almost on an annual basis to keep feeding us fans. iPhone nano is the next logical step for Apple, and I am willing to bet that the new nano will be very successful as well. Who wouldn’t want a tiny iPhone?

The Appeal of Refurbished iPhone

Most folks have probably heard by now that the good old Walmart will be offering the iPhone from now on. Sure, you don’t get a huge discount, but for what’s worth, I am sure there will be a lot of people who rather get their iPhones at Walmart than an AT&T store, right? Not if AT&T has anything to do with it.

The nations “fastest 3G network” now will be offering refurbished iPhones starting from $99. True. These are refurbished, but most folks know that refurbished items are as good as new these days, especially if you get a significant discount with them. Having said that, I wish the rumors of a cheaper iPhone becoming available through Walmart were true. Too bad.

iPhone Comes to Walmart

I am sure you have heard by now that iPhone will be available at Walmarts starting this sunday. The details of the deal are finally out, and we now know that Apple is not exactly offering an earth-shattering deal to the folks who buy at Walmart. I personally expected more but the hands are dealt for now. Here is my question:

iPhone @ Walmart, Decent Deal?
