How To Monitor Your Data Usage on iPhone: 5 Apps

The days of unlimited data plans are over. Mobile carriers make a considerable amount of money everytime their customers go over the limits of their wireless plans. If you are sick and tired of paying fees and penalties for going over what your data plan offers, you should monitor how much data you use on your device. These 5 iPhone apps let you do just that.

iDataMon Pro: an elegant data monitor that keeps track of your data usage to save you some money. This app tracks your cellular (3G/EDGE/GPRS) and WiFi data usage. It offers geotagging too.

My Data Usage Pro: one of our favorite data monitors. It keeps track of your billing cycle and tells you exactly what you need to know to stay out of trouble with your wireless carrier. You don’t have to run this app in the background. It is quite smart too.

DataMan Pro: it provides you with real time overage warnings. DataMan Pro tracks your daily, weekly and monthly cellular (3G/EDGE/GPRS) and Wi-Fi data usage. It has a very user friendly interface and works for all carriers.

Data Usage Monitor: it is a real time data usage monitor for iPhone. It offers network and website speed tests too. The interface is pretty solid.

Onvao: this application is free at the time of this writing. It is essentially a data plan enhancer (not a tracker per se). While it reduces your data usage, it could give you an idea how close you are to going over your limit.

We have had a lot of success with the first two apps on this list. But the other 3 are pretty solid too. Have you tried any of these in the past?
