iPhone App Developers Feeling The Economy Pain
Apple iTunes is a wonderful place to make money. If you spy around a bit, you will see that most marketers who are anybody are working on their own iPhone/iPod application. I am not saying that is a smart decision, but every-body’s jumping on this to make some quick bucks. But applications that are going for $5 to $9 are not that easy to pull the trigger on. I have personally bought so many apps that I can’t even remember. But as the money gets tighter, I have cut back on those expensive apps.
I don’t know about you, but I am a big fan of $0.99 apps. They are cheap, and the price tag sounds cheap too. And research has shown that they catch fire faster. Now, you will probably have to sell 10,000 apps on that price to break even or make some profit. The competition doesn’t help either. I don’t expect the economy to stop application developers to come up with their cool ideas. The market is not saturated, but if you are a developer and you are hoping to make a million with an iPhone app, think again. It may take 10 or 50 very cool apps to get there.
