Who Should Get iPhone 2.0?
Yesterday I went over the reasons why one should not consider not getting the iPhone 2.0. But that was really tailored towards people who do not have an iPhone already. Believe it or not many people waited a year to get the 2nd generation iPhone. I never quite understood the reason behind people doing this besides being too cautious. For some reason people hate to be early-adopters, which is fine if it works for you. However, you can apply the same analogy to iPhone 2.0, 3.0 and so on. But people who don’t have an iPhone already or have other phones, should consider getting the iPhone 2.0.
Having said that, you are probably better off if you keep your old iPhone and pass on the new one. I tend to agree with our friends at Network world that iPhone 2.0 does not offer enough incentives to people to dump their old ones and get the new ones. Simply adding the GPS and bunch of minor features doesn’t do it when you are talking about more expensive plans and new 2 year contracts. iPhone 2.0 is a wonderful gadget but not if you have one iPhone already
