Description

Hold the Moon in your hands. Moon Globe turns your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad into a precision instrument for viewing Earth's Moon. Satellite imagery and topographic laser altimeter data are combined to render the Moon with realistic lighting in realtime 3D.

Use the multitouch screen to manipulate the view. Spin above the surface, or switch to Telescope mode to see the Moon as it appears from your location on Earth. Adjust the display time and watch the sunlight shift over the lunar landscape. A "tag cloud" floats just above the surface, labeling terrain features and spacecraft; touch any label to find out more about that feature. Moon Globe also shows you where the Moon and Sun are in the sky with its dynamic sky compass.

This sophisticated astronomy simulation is FREE so that you can learn about Earth's Moon and wow your friends with what your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad can do. For Moon Globe fans, Moon Globe HD is also available with twice the map resolution.

Mr. Kelly Taylor ,

Longtime astronomer 40 plus year

This things awesome.
Does it have every bell and whistle no.
But what it does have will keep you busy for a lifetime.
The Sun's angle hits the moon differently all the time.
It has subtle changes. This thing will let you see from your location of Purbach's
X which is only visible one night per moon cycle.
You can change sun angle to see from one night to the next how this once a moon cycle thing occurs.
A priceless tool to have on a phone.
Viewing with instruments from 100mm F/6 refractors
To the classic 6 inch F/15 long focus refractor,up to my 204mm just slightly over 8 inch F/9 refractor on the moon is a joy.
Whatever instrument you chose the moon will test the best telescopes out there. The moon always puts on a great show.
View it every time you can this app will help get the most out of your viewing time with good ole Luna.
Going on a vacation advance it forward to see moon phase and what you can see.
Throw a 4" F/6 refractor in the family ride with a good tripod and a few good eyepieces and have fun.
The moon never disappoints those seeking its treasures.

I use this for the Astronomical League's Lunar Observation Program. It has been really helpful finding and identifying lunar features. Good intuitive user interface. Highly recommended for those interested in earth's moon.
