In case you haven’t been paying attention, Gmail has just recently turned 5. And in these five years Gmail has gone places. Gmail has quickly become the best e-mail platform on the Internet, and there is no stopping it at this point. In fact, Gmail for iPhone and Android has gotten an update. The updated Gmail uses HTML 5 and better caching capability to provide a smoother e-mail experience to Gmail junkies. Here are a few areas that Gmail has improved upon:

  • Speed: working with the iPhone Gmail has gotten that much more convenient with this update. A faster Gmail means you can get more done on your phone.
  • Offline enhancements: you can get more done offline with this new Gmail. It’s not perfect, but Gmail has improved in this area.
  • Interface: you may have noticed that Gmail’s interface has undergone some changes. You now have a bar that stays on the top of your phone and makes it easier to manage and organize your messages fast.

Google promises even more changes in the future. Gmail may be 5 years old, but it keeps on improving, and with the new architecture we are going to see even more features.

Your take: what’s your favorite feature on the new Gmail?
