Amazon Cloud Player Works on iOS

Amazon recently launched a cloud music service to upstage Apple and Google. Amazon Cloud Drive is an innovative service that gives music fans a ton of free space, allowing them to upload their music and add their purchased songs from Amazon to their account. Amazon’s Cloud player was originally compatible with Android only. A recent update now makes it possible for Amazon Cloud Drive customers to listen to their music on their iOS devices.

Did Amazon Change The Game with Cloud Drive?

It seems every Tuesday Amazon comes up with a new way to surprise its rivals in the industries it is involved in. This time around Amazon seems to have changed the game in the music industry by offering a cloud-based service, Cloud Drive. It is an exciting service that allows music lovers to upload their music library, including songs bought from iTunes, to their digital locker. No longer do music fans have to bother moving their files from one computer to another to listen to them or make backups.

Those who take advantage of Cloud Drive can listen to their music using Cloud Player. Cloud Player has two versions: web and Android. As expected, Amazon does not want to bother dealing with Apple, especially after all the issues it has had keeping its Kindle app in the app store. Users get 5 GB of free storage right from the start. Uploading and listening to music on Cloud Drive is like doing anything else on Amazon: very simple. Read the rest of this entry »

Amazon Now Ships Apple TV, iPad Battery

Many Apple fans purchase their products right from Apple. Having the option to purchase them from Amazon would not be too terrible. Amazon has just started shipping Apple TV units. Amazon Prime members can get their hands on this tiny device in as fast as 1 day. It took Amazon a while to ship new iPod Touch (Amazon fans had to wait a while for it to carry the iPad). The wait time has not been that long for Apple TV. Amazon currently ships it much faster than Apple (Apple takes as much as 2 weeks at this point).

Those of you who have tried iPhone battery extenders in the past know how useful these accessories can be. It seems the iPad will be getting its own battery extenders. Kensington PowerBack Battery Case for iPad is a hybrid accessory that can act as a case, stand, and battery extender for iPad. It can not only keep your device safe against scratches and bumps but also adds up to 5 hours of battery life to your device (has a 4400mAh internal battery). It has just started shipping.

Amazon Jumps On the iPhone Board

Amazon.com may be still interested in getting the iPhone listed on their store. AT&T and Apple are still not close to doing that. But that hasn’t kept Amazon from jumping on board and creating an iPhone application for folks to shop more effectively on their iPhones.

Amazon understands that the mobile market is growing rapidly, and in order to stay relevant Amazon will have to move quickly to take leadership position in mobile retail. This is a move to the right direction for Amazon, but one wonders what this move means to the Amazon Kindle. Will Amazon come up with its own “iPhonic” mobile device (with the SDK and all the good stuff) by upgrading the Kindle?

Apple iPod Touch Doesn’t Get in Customer Vote Promotion

Amazon’s customer vote promotion is back again, and there are some amazing deals available for a limited time. Now these deals are given to folks randomly which means you may not get lucky after all. But it’s surprising that Eee and Flip are included in the voting process, and iPod touch isn’t. I guess you still have a lot to be thankful for if you win the PS3 deals, but I would have liked to see iPod touch included in the voting process. It would’ve been a no-brainer.

You decide: Should iPod Touch be offered through Amazon Customer Vote? How about the iPhone itself (knowing that it won’t be on Amazon anytime soon).
