Where To Get iPhone 2.0?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

That is the question everyone is asking as we draw closer to the release date announcement at WWDC. So what’s the best way to get the iPhone 2.0? Well. For those of us who were lucky enough to have the pleasure of sitting outside stores for hours to get our hands to iPhone, this time around will be a bit easier as we are more experienced. ;)

So here are the options:

  • Wait endless hours and get your hands on it at the Apple/AT&T Store
  • Order online from the Apple Store
  • Get it on eBay!

I personally recommend the first one as the second option really didn’t work for me. I remember every time I tried the online store, it was either down or unresponsive. And after a short while it went out of stock. The store thing has become a tradition for true Apple fans. It is sort of a badge of honor to have the patience to wait in line for hours to have your hands on these iPhones as early as possible.

I strongly recommend going to the Apple store. Much better than AT&T store in my opinion. Unfortunately, there aren’t many of them around in my area so that was a hassle but if you are stuck between an Apple and AT&T store, go directly to Apple.

The online store thing could definitely work if you are vigilant enough to order your iPhone as soon as possible. Of course, if you log in and see that the site is down or very slow, then you are probably experiencing iPhone lover laziness syndrome (ills). No doubt a lot of people will attack the online store, so know what you are dealing with beforehand.

eBay is the shark land these days. I personally believe it is immoral for someone to buy iPhones just to sell them for twice they are worth on eBay. Of course, I understand the business side of it, and many of these people feel entitled to all the profit they are getting as they suffer to get their hands on the iPhones as early as possible. Having said that, not cool to make the iPhone not affordable for many of us and make us wait for Apple to restock. But if you have money to burn, go for it. Just make sure you don’t buy a piece of paper that has iPhone 2.0 written on it (a  piece of paper with the word PS3 sold for $350 on eBay once, so strangers things have happened.

These are all reasonable options, but if you decide to go with the first option, make sure you use the remaining time we have till the release date to train yourself for the ultimate test of endurance and patience. Good luck!

iPhone’s Global Domination Plan Goes Full Steam Ahead

Another day, another couple of countries get a chance to play with the iPhone. Japan and Spain are the latest two countries that Apple has made deals to market iPhones in. We reported a while back that Apple iPhone was in about 26 countries around the world. But Apple has 50+ countries as its target for the year 2008.

The move in Japan is interesting as a few carriers that have been talking with Apple have 3G networks that should allow Apple to smoothly transition iPhone 2.0 to that country. The competition will be tougher in Asia for Apple, but with all the rumors that we have heard about how good iPhone 2.0 is going to be, Apple should feel better about their world domination plan in the near future.

Solar Option Would Help iPod More Than iPhone

iPhone and iPod touch may look very similiar but they do attract different audiences. After all, iPhone is a phone power house that brings connectivity to a whole new level. iPod touch is really here and there. It’s a PDA that plays multi-media and take advantage of Wi-Fi but does not provide connection on the EDGE network, which makes iPod touch a limited connected device.

Having said that, adding a solar power could do wonders for the iPod touch. Just introducing 64 GB or 128 GB iPod touches would not be an acceptable improvement for Apple fans. But a solar powered iPod touch would be such a unique device that would blow a hole through all the iPod killers in the market.

It is not known whether Apple will introduce the solar powered iPod and iPhone this year, but when they do, that will push Apple to a whole new level.

iPhone 2.0 to Go Green?

Green Gadget, iPhone? A few months back I remember environmentalists complaining about how iPhone was responsible for the global warming and death of polar bears. Surely enough, Apple seems to be taking action to save the planet by bringing solar power to iPhone. Apple will be challenged to implement solar technology on its iPhone device. Nevertheless, it’s a noble idea, and one that can make iPhone 3.0 the hottest gadget in the history of mankind!

iPhone 3G Thicker than iPhone 1.0?

Is that really true? Nobody knows for sure. But according to Michael Kwan, the new cases of iPhone are bigger and are made for thicker iPhones. Now I am not sure if this will be the case, but if that is indeed the case, you can be sure that Apple will make add so many new features to make up for this inconvenience. Can’t wait for the WWDC.
