Latest iPhone 4G Rumors

Product Details

One of my favorite daily activities as an iPhone blogger is to figure out what the latest Apple rumors are, and whether any of them make sense. There are many people who make up stories and claim things that turn out to be false. Nobody knows whether Apple is behind its leaks, but that could certainly be the case if you consider the amount of coverage that each of these rumors get, no matter how wild they are.

When it comes to iPhone 4, there is nothing wild about the rumors. We have been expecting Apple to make its move and introduce the next generation iPhone this year. So the iPhone 4G shipping date rumors are not that wild. Unless you consider the fact that the supposed shipping date has gone from June to May to April in a matter of days. According to Korea Times, the next generation iPhone could come as early as April though June looks more likely in my book. Here is what KT had to say about the process:

We don’t see any bigger hurdle to introduce 4G iPhones here, as legal issues were completely cleared. It’s possible to launch the devices within the first half,

To be honest, the release date is not going to matter too much as long as we get some of the features we have been asking for with this new phone. According to the latest rumors, the iPhone is going to get an OLED screen, a dual core processor, and a removable battery. Video chat, better map capability, and better support for gamers are among other areas that you can expect iPhone 4G to address. Read the rest of this entry »

Apple Kills Verizon Deal?

One thing that you got to love about iPhone is having to deal with the all the rumors that surround the device’s future. One day Apple is close to releasing a new iPhone with Verizon as its partner. The very next day you hear about Apple and Verizon not being so close to a deal after all. This time it seems Apple has finally closed the door on Verizon altogether. Verizon has been absolutely hammering AT&T and indirectly the iPhone with its Droid apps, and it would have been awkward to see the very same company having to promote the iPhone (not that it can’t happen). But one would hope that Apple has not killed its deal with Verizon over some ads. After all, considering that many analysts believe that Verizon would too struggle to handle with all the load that the iPhone would put on its network, there are better excuses available to Apple.

According to Geeksmack, Apple has finally decided to focus on its relationship with AT&T and not pursue a deal with Verizon. If that is truly the case, it’s a shame for all iPhone owners. You don’t have to look far to see why going with AT&T is not a good option for Apple. Even those who have been lucky enough to attend the sessions at CES 2010 have complained about bad coverage at the event. So AT&T’s quality of service has ways to go to completely satisfy iPhone owners. Maybe Apple should rethink its deal with AT&T as well, since the company is planning to introduce Android-based iPhone competitors.

Apple Set to Rock 2010 with Tablet, iPhone 4

Apple Netbook - Credit Gizmodo

2009 was a very busy year for gadget manufacturers. We got to see a few decent gadgets, and a few exciting niche markets emerged or re-emerged onto the scenes. With everything that Apple did in 2009, you could still call it a quiet year for the company, considering what it has for store for all of us. We now know that Apple is planning to release its tablet (iSlate) sometime this year. The tablet has been rumored for months, but Apple has danced around the topic for too long now. The cat is out of the bag now. iPhone 4G has also been in the works for quite some time, and we may get a glimpse of Apple’s future plans as its contract with AT&T winds down.

The impact of iSlate can’t be underestimated in a tablet market that has been somewhat stagnant lately. Tablets were expected to rock the world a few years back, but just like the e-book market, tablets somehow became stagnant. iSlate is expected to change all that, considering that it will be a complete portable digital media solution for on the go. Many analysts are claiming that iTablet could indeed have iPod like effect on the tablet market. Apple certainly knows how to change the game with its gadgets. Read the rest of this entry »

iPhone 4G Ordered?

Product Details

We all know it’s about time Apple started working towards releasing iPhone 4G next year. We have seen enough iPhone and iPod launches that it’s become easy to predict how Apple works. But if you need some confirmation, Eldar Murtazin seems to have given it on Twitter. The editor in chief of Mobile Review had this to tweet yesterday:

So what will we get with iPhone 4 Gen anyway? Verizon may have given us some ideas with its attack ads on iPhone. It’s not too hard to predict that Apple will be addressing some of those issues. I suspect that Apple will be working hard to integrate its own map application into iPhone, so you can dream less about Google Maps Navigation (not sure if that’s possible). Not all of these rumors are going to turn out to be true. But even if a quarter of them are, we are set for one exciting summer.
