iPhone 5 Parts Continue To Surface

Apple has already given its fans a lot to cheer about with the release of the iPad 3 earlier this year. The iPhone 5 is going to be a hot-selling device as well. We have already heard many rumors on what this device will or won’t do. Parts claimed to be from the six generation iPhone are also surfacing. The ones published on SW-Box and covered by How to Arena suggest that the iPhone 5 will have a different internal design.

This design suggests that the headphone jack is attached to the earpiece and WiFi elements. The funny part is you can actually buy this component off of SW-Box for $7.71. There is no way to confirm this is real though. It is true that the iPhone 5 will have a major redesign over its predecessor. We will have to wait and see whether it will have the above-mentioned component inside.

Apple Pursuing iPhone 5 Domain, Plan A for iPad Revealed

The new iPad is a brilliant device. It may not be a whole lot thinner or lighter than its predecessor, but it is more powerful and has one beautiful display. We always did wonder why Apple did not aim to make the iPad 3 thinner. Some analysts are now claiming that the iPad 3 design that made it out of the door was plan B for Apple.

The plan was to use this new technology called IGZO from Sharp — a lot higher electron mobility that allows them to make the transistors a lot smaller and the circuit elements a lot smaller,

explained Raymond Soneira, the founder, president and CEO of DisplayMate Technologies. Sharp did not have the technology ready in time, which forced Apple to go with its current design. As a result of this compromise, Apple pushed amorphous silicon to a higher PPI than anyone else and included a much larger battery in the new iPad. Read the rest of this entry »

iPhone 5: 4 Inch Display, New Dock Connector?

Credit: iLounge

The iPhone 5 rumors refuse to die. They started right after Apple introduced the iPhone 4S. We have heard some crazy things about the new iPhone. According to iLounge, the device will have a 4 inch display. It will be longer and thinner than the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The overall design is expected to remain the same though. Apple won’t have to change its winning design a whole lot to be successful.

iLounge’s sources have suggested the new iPhone’s measurements are 125mm by 58.5mm by 7.4mm. A flat, metal panel is going to be added to the central back of the device. The iPhone 5 will be made partially from Gorilla Glass 2. A new dock connector may be introduced as well. It will have fewer pins than the 30-pin Dock Connector available in current iPhones and iPads. As expected, we won’t see a Liquidmetal iPhone in 2012.

Liquidmetal-Based iPhone 5 Coming In June?

We have heard some crazy iPhone 5 rumors in the past few months. Before the iPhone 4S was announced, everyone expected Apple to introduce the iPhone 5 last year. The next generation iPhone is a big deal to Apple. The company has a pretty solid position in the smartphone business but needs to deliver big. The Korean site ETNews is suggesting that Apple will use the Liquidmetal alloy to replaces the phone’s glass back.

iPhone5 is likely to take liquid metal, an alloy of zirconium, titanium, nickel, copper and so forth having an outer surface smooth like liquid. The new iPhone is expected to make its debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco in June.

The last part does give it away a bit. Most experts don’t expect Apple to have the iPhone 5 ready before September. The claims of a metal back for iPhone are nothing new though. In fact, some expected Apple to go in that route last year. At this point, there is no way for us to confirm this.

Apple Blocking UDID Apps, More iPhone 5 Screen Rumors

Each iPhone and iPad on the market has a special identification number called UDID. Those who have developed apps for iOS are already familiar with that. Some developers have been writing code to access UDID information for a while. Considering that Apple has had to deal with all kinds of privacy issues recently, it is not a surprise that it is now rejecting any app that accesses the UDID. Read the rest of this entry »
