iPhone UK vs. iPhone U.S.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Well, as someone who has not had a chance to travel to Europe lately, I can say that I know next to nothing about the iPhone UK experience except what I have heard from friends who have been to Europe. So it’s about time someone came out and gave us some insight on what iPhone means to the Europe (after all we all know Americans are obsessed with this cool shiny toy). BBC has a piece on iPhone UK experience which I thought was pretty interesting. Not surprisingly the EDGE network was an issue, but we already know the challenges with the EDGE network. But the roaming seems to be another big issue if you are traveling abroad. You are going to get a nice fat bill! Nothing really I didn’t expect from this report, but still interesting to see some real issues that iPhone users face.

iPhone and the Tale of Strong U.K. pound!

iPhone is a hit in the U.S., so why U.K. consumers are having trouble digesting the price of iPhone-UK?  (£269). Well, one reason could be the fact that iPhone is going close to $557 in the U.K. and the dollar value goes higher as dollar gets weaker against U.K. pound. Also, iPhone does come unsubsidized, which makes it less attractive to consumers who have gotten used to getting their handsets for free or a fraction of its regular price after signing up for a two-year contract with their mobile service providers. Is a price cut on the horizon in the U.K.? I wouldn’t put it past Steve!

iPhone Fever Reaches Europe

Apple iPhone is finally taking Europe by storm. Apple put iPhone on the shelves today in the U.K for 269 UK pounds. O2 will be the mobile phone service provider for the iPhone, but just like in the good old U.S. you can unlock the phone if you can. Here is the catch however: you will be putting your warranty on the line if you unlock your iPhone. That is a small price to pay it seems. Here for more on the story.
