4 Scratch Removal Kits for iPhone/iPod

Recently, we had a chance to write a piece about how you can make your iPhone scratch proof. In that article, we talked about some of the solutions that people put their hopes on to get rid of scratches. There are such solutions out there, but as long as your scratches are minor. Major scratches almost always require a visit to a professional repair shop or part replacement.

Not all scratches are created the same. If you happen to be one of the lucky ones and have gotten only minor scratches on your phone, here are 4 iPhone/iPod scratch removers that could come in handy:

RadTech 13-650 IceCreme Acrylic and Polycarbonate Finishing Kit: removes damage from most plastics and plated metals. Works with iPod, Macbook, and more.

None of these solutions are magical. So don’t expect miracles. At the same time, they do work for minor issues. So if you have minor damages on your phone, the above solutions could help.

Would You Kill for An iPod?

An iPod… a $300 gadget…life is more precious, right? Not so, it seems if you are a desperate teenager. Shane X (name concealed for legal purposes), has managed to do the unthinkable and kill another human being for a mere iPod. The Canadian authorities have decided to try the guy as an adult and put him in jail for 10 years. I do believe that the sentence is somewhat fair, but there is just something sinister about killing someone over an iPod.

There is no way you can justify someone killing someone else. But killing someone over an iPod is even worse. iPod is not exactly a luxury item. You can eat iPod nor you can breath it. In other words, it’s not vital to your existence. So it’s terrible when you see someone lose their life over a mere iPod. I love Apple products but wouldn’t harm anyone over my iPhone or iPod Touch. Would you?

Has iPhone made you thinner?

I don’t know about you but I keep reading about how folks have turned round their lives and lost weight thanks to their iPhones and iPods. So I am curious to know what your experience has been with your iPhone. Have you started exercising more due to buying an iPhone? Or is it just another device that has made your lazier (my case ? Please share your thoughts.

Dell to Challenge Apple’s iPod Line

Dell is the latest company trying to take a crack at iPod’s dominance in the music market. These companies such never learn. Whether it’s Sony, Microsoft, or now Dell, these guys keep coming up with subpar products and expect their brands to do the job for them. Zune would’ve been a great device 5 years ago, but by being about 5 years behind its time, Zune is just not worth $230. I certainly hope that Dell will introduce a respectable product.

iPod To Hang On To Dear Life

Yet Another story on how the new iPhone could eventually kill of the iPod. I mentioned in an earlier post that I thought iPod touch had no clear future. I am sure the smart people at Apple also realize that the days of people just buying an MP3 Player for the sake of listening to music is going to be over soon. Surely, there will be demand for a product that only does one thing, but the younger generation would be more into multitasking which means multi-tasking devices will be hotter than ever in the upcoming years.

Apple iPhone is now going for $199 which is much affordable than before. It’s true that the phone plans are not that affordable but the younger generation rather save $300 that that they would’ve paid a couple of years ago on an iPod and put that towards getting the iPhone. I still think the best way to go forward for Apple is to combine the two devices. Let’s say you go to the Apple store and buy an iPhone. If you don’t like to activate it, then you pay $299 for it. But if you activate it within 30 days, you get $100 back in rebate. There are a lot of things to consider when going with such a plan, but I am sure Apple can figure it out. But don’t make us buy two very similar devices and pretend that they are very different.

iPhone and XM radio?

We have talked about in the past about the possibility of Apple adding Radio functionality to its beloved iPod touch and iPhone lines. But would Apple actually consider XM or Sirius Satellite Radio functionality now that its rivals are starting to provide that feature? For one, adding XM to iPod touch would definitely end the debate on what could kill iPod. Players such as Zune that point out to Radio functionality to differentiate themselves from iPod would really have nothing to hold on to. Will Apple actually do this? Unlikely for now, but as iPhone/iPod killers start to offer these features, Apple may seriously consider it.

iPhone Killers Wave Coming!

It’s must be a strange feeling for Apple to be the target of this-killer, that-killer. iPod comes out and all companies around the world including Microsoft want to come out with iPod killer. Then iPhone came out, and Verizon, Microsoft, and Sprint launched their own iPhone killers and failed. Poor Microsoft now has to deal with iPod touch though to tell you the truth Zune 6.0 may have a good chance of killing iPod Tourch 1.0. Well, brace yourself for a wave of iPhone killers that are coming out later today. Verizon is planning multiple iPhone killers, and others will soon follow. But somebody needs to tell these guys that you don’t kill a product by imitating every feature of it. You become it if you take all its features and just change its color around!
