Apple Has Another Tablet In The Works?

Apple may have announced the iPad last week, but that hasn’t stopped people from talking about all the rumors that surprisingly refuse to die down. Before the iPad was released, many experts expected Apple to introduce multiple tablets to reach out to more market segments. As it turned out, Apple decided to stay with one device and introduce different flavors of it instead. But could Apple be secretly working on a new tablet even before the iPad is shipped?

When you think about it, the iPad is more iPhone like whereas many expected it to be closer to Macbooks. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Apple to introduce a tablet that is capable of replacing your laptop. According to TechCrunch, this new tablet could be much larger in size as well. We all know that Apple is a big fan of touch computing. The iPhone has proved that touch-screen devices can be quite popular. So it’s not a surprise if Apple iPad is not the last of Apple’s tablets.

Final Words On Apple Tablet Event

Unless something extraordinary happens today, Apple is going to announce its long awaited tablet product at its event in San Francisco. Apple may have kept the details on this device secret, but details are already leaking out in forms of hints here or there. One of the hints that we have gotten is that Apple may be relying on AT&T to provide wireless service for these tablets (similar to what Amazon is doing with Kindle). Of course, there are other ways to interpret Apple defending AT&T in the eve of its biggest event since the iPhone 1G announcement event.

Tim Cook certainly didn’t pull any stops in defending AT&T’s service:

I think it is important to remember that they have more mobile broadband usage than any other carrier in the world. In the vast majority of locations, we think that iPhone customers are having a great experience from the research that we have done.

Of course, Tim could be just tricking us here and making us believe that AT&T will be part of Apple’s future plans when the company is planning otherwise. But so far there is no reason to believe AT&T won’t be part of Apple’s plans for its tablet. Read the rest of this entry »

iPhone 4: Apple To End AT&T iPhone Exclusivity

We have known for a while that Apple was not too sure about continuing its exclusive iPhone deal with AT&T. The company needed AT&T to jump start the iPhone era. But not only AT&T has failed to provide high quality of service to iPhone owners, its exclusive iPhone deal does limit Apple’s growth. Besides, there is no reason for Apple not to be on multiple networks. Verizon and T-Mobile provide Apple with the chance to take iPhone to more homes, so a deal with one of those companies seems to be imminent despite the rumors that suggest otherwise.

January 27th is slated as the date that Apple announces its next great creation. Apple tablet is expected to take the world by storm and push Apple to new heights. But what people are not talking about is the fact that Apple will most likely announce the end of iPhone exclusivity as far as AT&T is concerned. Many experts are already predicting an announcement on a Verizon iPhone at this event. If Apple is to announce such a move, you can expect the company to sell a ton of units in the next few months.

All You Need To Know about Apple Tablet Event

Credit: Apple

Apple certainly knows how to hit a triple. At least if we are to believe the latest reports from major news sources such as Fox. It seems Apple will finally reveal Apple tablet, iPhone 4, and iLife 2010 at an event planned for January 27th. This piece of news is nothing new as many expected Apple to announce its new products soon. But perhaps it’s coming sooner than most of us expected. Top media outlets have gotten their invitation already (see the above image) and wheels have been set in motion for Apple to finally give its customers what they have been wanting for months.

Apple doesn’t do anything by chance, so you better believe there is a hidden message behind the invitation sent to the media. It does look like Apple is preparing something that can be used by artists and maybe the creative bunch. After all, how would you explain the spray-painted blobs in the invitation? Apple Kills Verizon Deal?

One thing that you got to love about iPhone is having to deal with the all the rumors that surround the device’s future. One day Apple is close to releasing a new iPhone with Verizon as its partner. The very next day you hear about Apple and Verizon not being so close to a deal after all. This time it seems Apple has finally closed the door on Verizon altogether. Verizon has been absolutely hammering AT&T and indirectly the iPhone with its Droid apps, and it would have been awkward to see the very same company having to promote the iPhone (not that it can’t happen). But one would hope that Apple has not killed its deal with Verizon over some ads. After all, considering that many analysts believe that Verizon would too struggle to handle with all the load that the iPhone would put on its network, there are better excuses available to Apple.

According to Geeksmack, Apple has finally decided to focus on its relationship with AT&T and not pursue a deal with Verizon. If that is truly the case, it’s a shame for all iPhone owners. You don’t have to look far to see why going with AT&T is not a good option for Apple. Even those who have been lucky enough to attend the sessions at CES 2010 have complained about bad coverage at the event. So AT&T’s quality of service has ways to go to completely satisfy iPhone owners. Maybe Apple should rethink its deal with AT&T as well, since the company is planning to introduce Android-based iPhone competitors.
