Seek Thermal: Thermal Camera for iPhone & Android

Trending iPhone, iPad apps:

Thermal cameras for iOS devices are nothing new. The FLIR One happens to be one of the most exciting ones around. Seek Thermal is another one you can pick up to see things in the dark on your iPhone or Android device. You just have to connect the camera to your phone’s Lightning or mUSB port, and you are set. Both models have a true thermal sensor and magnesium housing. Here are the features you need to know:

  • 32,136 Thermal Pixels
  • 206 x 156 Array
  • Chalcogenide Lens
  • 36º Field of View
  • Long Wave Infrared 7.2 – 13 Microns
  • -40C to 330C Detection

What can you do with a device like this? You can see wild animals in the dark, identify thermal leaks, catch thermal imprints, and do a whole lot more. The companion app lets you share thermal photos and videos, select from four different temperature measurement tools, and more. The developers are expected to get a SDK to create their own apps in early 2015. You can get one of these for $199.
