The Wristcam is a clever Apple Watch band with 8MP/2MP cameras that lets you record what’s happening all around you. You can now use it with your new or old Apple Watch to make video calls to iPhones. The company has worked with “Apple’s Developer Relations team to integrate the new CallKit and ShareKit APIs for watchOS 9.” With the Wristcam app, watchOS 9 users will be able to make video calls even without a camera band. Of course, without a camera band, iPhone users you are making the call to will only be able to hear your voice.
Wristcam is expected to release a personal safety update later this fall. This new feature will allow users to connect with their contacts when in trouble. Wristcam Protect will take advantage of Apple Watch complications and Siri Shortcuts to make camera captures and sharing easier.
