Robots are wonderful tools to use to teach kids basics of coding. The XRP Kit is an experimental open robotics platform that comes with everything young students need to get hands-on experience with robot programming. It ships as an easy-to-assemble hardware kit. It relies on an Raspberry Pi Pico W for its controller board. It also has a 6-axis IMU to measure acceleration and inclination.

This robot ships with two motors with encoders, an ultrasonic range finder, two wheels, two casters, and a battery holder. It has various sensor ports with QWIIC connectors, so you can measure the temperature, sound, and a whole lot more. This kit is compatible with Blockly. A training app will be available for it in the future. This robot will support MicroPython coding.
