All photographers and video pros know the importance of optimal lighting to capture sharp photos and video. Picking up a light meter could help photographers determine the right exposure for their shots. You don’t always need a separate device to do this. These 5 light meter apps for iPhone can measure luminosity to make your job easier:
Pocket Light Meter: turns your iPhone into a light meter. It measures reflected light and provides you with the information you need to capture better photos.
Lux Light Meter Pro: this professionally calibrated app measures luminosity on your phone. It provides you with average and max values and lux & foot candle measurements. Useful for manual & film camera photographers.
myLightMeter Pro: this app has incident and reflected light metering modes with sensibility as low as -2/-4EV. It allows for independent aperture, speed, ISO and exposure compensation. It has LED indicators to let you know when measurements are not reliable due to lack of light.
