Here is a handy app that uses augmented reality to help you set up your satellite dish properly. Satellite Pointer for iPhone has a database of more than 200 satellites. It shows you their positions in the sky, so you can target them without guesswork. The app calculates azimuth, elevation and polarization angles for your position.
You can download this app for free but the pro version gives you access to more features, including the ability to add satellites manually and a 4-step alignment tool to help you set up your TV antenna. The above video shows what the Satellite Pointer app has to offer.
