Adobe has always been interested in bringing some of its tools to iOS devices. Adobe’s new Photoshop Touch for iPad 2 has just hit the iOS App Store today. The app was available for purchase for a short time during the weekend but was quickly pulled. Adobe Photoshop Touch brings popular Photoshop features to the iPad 2 tablet. It offers layers, selection tools, adjustments, filters, and many other features.
Adobe Photoshop Touch offers search integration with Google Image Search. Tools such as Scribble Selection and Refine Edge make it easier to manipulate photos on iPads. The app uses AirPrint for wireless printing of Photoshop Touch projects. Adobe Creative Cloud is integrated into this app. Users get to share their images on Facebook.
Adobe Photoshop Touch is only available for iPad 2 and requires iOS 5.0 and later. It does seem it has been written using Adobe AIR. Developer @stroughtonsmith suggests that the app could have been a whole lot better without Adrobe AIR technology. Adobe could have more success with these tools by making them more optimized for tablet devices. Adobe Photoshop Touch is available for $9.99 at the time of this writing.
