Remember Anki’s AI-based racing game? It was first shown at WWDC. Anki Drive uses AI and machine learning to provide you with a fun playing experience. The Anki cars connect to your phone wirelessly and let you control the gas and weapons. Players earn points for hits, which they can use to update cars and weapons. Each car has some unique characteristics. They all can handle steering on their own.
The Anki Drive system is going to set you back $199. You get two cars, chargers, and a race track. Additional cars do set you back $69, so this is not a cheap toy. The companion app is available for free.
While iOS remains a very popular mobile OS, many folks would consider switching to Android if they could take their games and paid content with them. A new tool on the Moto Maker site makes it easier for folks to jump from iOS to Android. It lets iOS users transfer their contact and calendar data from iCloud to Google. As Punit Soni explained on Google+, there is simply a long way to go but this is just start.
iOS has come a long way in the past few years. It is still a great mobile OS. Switching from iOS to Android can be a costly endeavor, so this tool needs to get a lot better to attract more users.
