We have been hearing a lot about the HeartBleed OpenSSL security flaw in the past few days. Many major services have been affected by it. In fact, some have already asked their users to reset their passwords just to be safe. Apple has finally clarified its position on this issue.
Apple takes security very seriously. IOS and OS X never incorporated the vulnerable software and key Web-based services were not affected,
an Apple spokesperson told Re/code. I personally have changed my passwords, but you should be doing that every few months anyway. The good news is the flaw has been discovered and is being addressed by top companies. Meanwhile, if you are not sure which services you should reset your password for, the “hit list” by Mashable is worth a look. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Yahoo have all been hit, so don’t leave anything to chance.
