The CES 2012 event has been quite an exciting one for iPhone fans. Plenty of manufacturers have come out with innovative iPhone products worth picking up. A few days ago, we covered GoPano Micro Lens which enables iPhone owners to capture 360 degree videos. The Dot iPhone Lens is another add-on capable of making that happen. New York-based startup Kogeto has been showing off the device at CES. The company has been raising a lot of money to keep rolling.
The lens will be on sale in the Apple stores around the U.S. starting January 24th. It will clip on your iPhone and has a companion app called “Looker.” The makers are not limiting themselves to the iOS platform only. They are very much interested in Android as well. This add-on has a circular mirror that captures light from every direction into the iPhone camera. The Looker app processes the data and turns it all into killer, interactive videos.
The Dot will set you back $79. The quality is not always the best. But the folks at Kogeto promise improvements in the future. A version of Dot for Android will be available in the first half of 2012.
