Future iPhones To Get Lens Mount, iOS 7.1 Causing Battery Drain?
0Apple has to improve iPhones and iPads all the time to stay ahead of the competition and keep customers coming back for more. The next will have an A8 processor and a better camera. It could also have a larger display. But as a recent patent application shows, Apple is working a lens attachment system that would allow iPhone owners to attach a variety of lenses to their device.
There are clearly multiple ways to attach lenses to an iPhone. We have seen third party manufacturers come up with creative ways to get it done. Apple could do so by selling cases that accept lenses or offering a magnetic ring attachment. It does sound like Apple is leaning towards a bayonet mount, but it is surely just exploring different ideas at this point. Considering that many iPhone owners use their device to capture photos and videos on the go, this is a very smart move by Apple. We are not sure when these ideas will see the light of day though.
Apple will ship the iPhone 6 with a new iOS update. These updates are not always perfect. Take iOS 7 for instance: some folks are complaining that iOS 7.1 drains their battery faster. Of course, battery life issues are nothing new. Turning off a few iOS features could always help address this. Doing a clean install may or may not solve the problem. Apple will probably investigate and release a patch if this issue persists.
