Google+ Hangouts for iOS Updated, OS X 10.6 Updates Stopping?
0Google+ is one of our favorite social networks. While many in the tech blogging world still make fun of Google+ as being a ghost-town, many are realizing the social network is here to stay. One of its best features happens to be Google+ Hangouts. The iOS app for Hangouts has now been updated to offer users a better experience. For starters, it has been fully optimized for the iPad. It lets users record and send video messages up to 10 seconds long.
Google+ Hangouts for iOS 7 has animated stickers that help you share what you are feeling exactly. Picture-in-picture calling is available too. You can even use it to send a map of your current location. This app is available as a free download on the App Store.
Speaking of updates, if you happen to own one of those old Macs with OS X 10.6, it is probably time to upgrade. While Apple has not officially killed support for Snow Leopard, but it did not fix security issues in the Snow Leopard OS X 10.6 software with its latest update. The move does make sense. While it is understandable some folks might still love their OS X 10.6, there is no reason for Apple to continue supporting a software that is now 4 years old and replaced by better releases. It is better for Apple to spend time getting its act together, so it can avoid security holes like the one discovered recently. The only concerning part about this move is the fact that 1 in 5 Macs are still operating on OS X 10.6.
