Having to deal with a cable or two when trying to charge our gadgets is not a big deal. But things get a whole lot messy when you have multiple gadgets with different cables. Powermat’s wireless charging products have been around for quite some time. While they are not perfect by any means, they do let their owners charge their gadgets without having to deal with too many wires. The folks at Geeked have taken Powermat one step further. The below video shows a modified Powermat product that serves as a wireless charger /mount for the iPhone.
Playing games and texting while driving can be dangerous. One certainly does not want to get distracted with searching for cables. This modified Powermat system should help a lot in charging your iPhone when you are driving. Mark Benton does sell pre-assembled chargers to those who are interested. You can build one yourself but you will need a Powermat Charger, an adjustable mount, a power inverter, and a couple of magnets. More instructions are available on Geeked.
