Hacking Snapchat, Samsung Galaxy S4 Security Flaw?

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

Millions of folks are relying on their smartphones and tablets to get things done every day. Needless to say, if you know your mobile security, there are going to be many opportunities available to you in the coming years. We hear about app hacks and security flaws in smartphones all the time. The latest story reported by Business Insider suggests that Snapchat is indeed very hackable.

Researchers at Gibson Security have found security holes in the SnapChat software. They have disclosed one that allows a hacker to obtain the phone number of any Snapchat user without their permission. The security flaw is not limited to the Android version of the app. To be fair, security flaws in app codes are nothing new. But we will have to see how Snapchat addresses this. You can be sure that there are other popular apps that could have similar issues, so always know the risks before jumping on every new exciting app.

Speaking of security flaws, Samsung seems to have a big headache as far as its Galaxy S4 device is concerned. Samsung’s KNOX security platform was supposed to make its phone more business friendly. Security researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel have spotted a security risk that enables a hacker to get secure data on Samsung handsets. In other words, the system can leak data to hackers. Regardless of how Samsung downplay this, it’s not a piece of news the company would want to see covered for too long. How this will affect Samsung in the long term is not known.
