iOS 5 has generated quite a lot of buzz among Apple fans. Apple is introducing a ton of new features in this edition of its OS. The revamped notification center, newsstand, iMessage service, and Twitter integration are all exciting. It is also interesting to know that iOS 5 seems to run just fine on older phones such as iPhone 3G S. Apple Rumors Italia has put a comparison video up that shows how fast iOS 5 runs on iPhone 3G S in comparison to iPhone 4.
Those who have played with the beta version of the iOS already know that it could be sluggish at times. The final edition of iOS 5 is expected to be faster and run more smoothly on iPhone 4. Considering that most of the updates in iOS 5 are not CPU intensive, we don’t expect iOS 5 to be slower than its predecessor.
Operating systems do get bloated and slow down as they enter a more mature state. iOS seems to be far from that point though.
