iPad Comes to MacMall, Camera In The Works?

When Apple iPad was announced, many were wondering how they could get their hands on one as soon as possible. Apple.com is obviously the easiest way to order an iPad (next to going to an Apple store). However, many Apple fans have gotten used to ordering their favorite products from MacMall and other similar stores. At first, Apple did not seem to have a plan to bring the iPad to such stores. But that stand has changed as MacMall is accepting orders for Apple iPad, giving you yet another way to order your device without directly dealing with Apple.

So why MacMall? These stores are known for having killer bundles. So consumers end up saving money by going through these stores instead of dealing directly with Apple.com. MacMall does not add tax charges to purchases either. So the price you see is the price you get. At this point, MacMall is accepting orders by phone. There is no word on whether the company has plans to take iPad orders over the Internet.

Many people have decided to wait for iPad to become more mature before taking a chance with it. After all, every first generation device has its flaws. That could turn out to be a very good move as Apple seems to be already in the process of developing iPad 2.0. The next generation iPad will not only have a faster processor, it is almost certain to have a camera as well. The company already has a job posting up for the position:

Next generation iPod Touches are destined to get their own camera. It’s tough to believe that Apple will not do the same for iPad. So as long as you can wait for iPad 2.0, there is a good chance you are going to get your hands on a more complete device (though there is no shame in owning multiple iPads). l
