Apple may be still months away from releasing iPhone 5 to the market. But it intends to keep people talking about its top gadget by introducing the white iPhone. It has taken the company months to finally pull this off. Apple started preparing its retail partners for the launch of white iPhone 4 this weekend. White iPhone is expected to launch as early as April 27th. Engadget’s source even provided it with a photo of white iPhone 4 in its box.
Apple won’t be launching iPhone 5 this summer. White iPhone should allow it to keep some of its momentum until the launch of the 5th generation iPhone in fall. Everybody knows that Apple will be bringing iPhone to T-Mobile in the near future. From the pictures published by BGR, that could be sooner rather than later. Could it be that Apple is just testing iPhone on T-Mobile to figure out any possible compatibility issues on that network?
So what is iPhone 4s? We have been hearing about this device in the past few weeks. Some have suggested that white iPhone will be called iPhone 4s to generate more interest for the device. Others suggest iPhone 4s is the unofficial name for the dual-core iPhones that developers have received to prepare their apps for the launch of iPhone 5. These prototypes will have an A5 chip inside which is faster and offers more power. At this point, it is not clear whether Apple will officially use that name at any point in the future.
