Android fans are quite excited about Samsung Galaxy devices. Samsung has done a decent job coming up with phones that can hold their own against the iPhone. But Apple device still hold their value better than their Samsung counterparts. As Investment bank Piper Jaffray announced yesterday, Apple’s iPhone retains a higher resale value in comparison to Samsung devices.
AppleInsider reportes that even though Apple iPhones are not cheap, they do hold their value for a longer period of time. The highest performing handset in this study was the iPhone 4S, losing only 7% of its value in 2 months. The iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 were second and third, respectively. The study was done by comparing U.S. eBay auction prices for these premium phones.
Not surprisingly, Apple iPhones start to sell for cheaper once existing owners guess when the next model is coming. So if you have an iPhone 5 you would like to get rid of before the next model debuts, don’t wait too long.
