It is no secret that many iPhone owners have been complaining about their devices not holding up battery charge as long as they should. Apple has been investigating the issue for a while now. Some of us have suspected that the problem could be with iOS 5 and not the iPhone 4S itself. PCMag has run a test to identify what could be the issue.
The iPhone 4S offers slightly longer battery life in comparison to iPhone 4. Things do get interesting when we compare results of devices that run iOS 4 against iPhones running iOS 5. The test results show that iPhone 4 with iOS 4 can go for about 7.5 hours with a single charge. With iOS 5 on-board, that dropped to 6h 55m. The difference is not huge. But this does suggest iOS 5 may indeed be what’s causing the problem.
Let’s hope Apple finds a way to fix this. Have you experienced lousy battery life on your iPhone?
