Latest iPhone 4G Rumors

One of my favorite daily activities as an iPhone blogger is to figure out what the latest Apple rumors are, and whether any of them make sense. There are many people who make up stories and claim things that turn out to be false. Nobody knows whether Apple is behind its leaks, but that could certainly be the case if you consider the amount of coverage that each of these rumors get, no matter how wild they are.

When it comes to iPhone 4, there is nothing wild about the rumors. We have been expecting Apple to make its move and introduce the next generation iPhone this year. So the iPhone 4G shipping date rumors are not that wild. Unless you consider the fact that the supposed shipping date has gone from June to May to April in a matter of days. According to Korea Times, the next generation iPhone could come as early as April though June looks more likely in my book. Here is what KT had to say about the process:

To be honest, the release date is not going to matter too much as long as we get some of the features we have been asking for with this new phone. According to the latest rumors, the iPhone is going to get an OLED screen, a dual core processor, and a removable battery. Video chat, better map capability, and better support for gamers are among other areas that you can expect iPhone 4G to address.We have been hearing about Apple adding an OLED screen to its phone for years now. That hasn’t happened so far. But Apple’s rivals may have forced Apple’s hands into taking action in that area. We do know that Apple is planning to offer a 5 MP camera on the new iPhones. So the phone will be better with video and photos.

Apple has still not allowed Google Maps Navigation on iPhone. Many expect Apple to introduce its own killer mapping solution. Of course, the needs of gamers will be addressed as well with a better, faster processor. and a more powerful SDK. Some of us have been thinking about iPhone 4 since iPhone 3GS was released. The wait could be finally over in a matter of a few months. Any date before a June release sounds like crazy talk at this point, but I’d be more than happy to be proven wrong.
