In a perfect world, we all would be able to dual boot our favorite mobile operating systems on our smartphones or tablets. But things are a bit more complicated than that. We have already seen Winocm pulling something like that off on older iOS devices. Not everyone has the hacking skills to pull off such a feat. The good news is Winocm might show us all how to get iOS 6 / iOS 7 dual boot working on an iPhone or iPad. At least, that’s what has been suggested on Twitter.
Whether you should run iOS 6 and iOS 7 on the same device is a different story. It is not clear which devices will be supported and how easy the process will be. Apple could kill such a hack quickly for all we know, so we have no choice but to wait and see how this turns out.
Speaking of iOS devices, the Typo Case for iPhone was launched a while back to make it easier to type, especially for folks who were switching from a phone with a physical keyboard. Needless to say, BlackBerry was not too impressed and decided to go after it due to its design. William H Orrick, the judge handling the case, has now halted sale and marketing of the case by Typo Products, suggesting that BlackBerry is likely to be successful with its copyright claims in this case.
As the NY Times has reported, the case has not been particularly successful, so not a whole lot of us will miss it. It remains to be seen where Typo goes from here.
