Why iPhone Won’t Be Toppled Anytime Soon

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

When you happen to write for a blog that starts with the word “iPhone,” it’s not easy to heap praise on iPhone without being considered biased. Of course, we all have our biases regardless of what we do. If there is any one device that deserves praise despite its shortcomings, it’s the iPhone. Not because Apple put it together but rather due to the fact that it is years ahead of the competition.

The iPhone is not perfect. The quality of service that you get from AT&T is terrible. Apple has its controlling ways and doesn’t allow certain apps to run on its phones. It certainly can be better when it comes to taking pictures in not so ideal situations (lighting and …). But as the report by Morgan Stanley demonstrates, the iPhone is strong in too many areas for Apple competitors to catch up to it in a short period of time.

Apple has created quite an ecosystem around the iPhone, and that is why a lot of so called iPhone killers have failed to stop its momentum. Here are just a few reasons why the iPhone can’t be beat:

  • UI
  • Software
  • Hardware
  • Distribution
  • SDK
  • Connectivity
  • Community
  • Innovation

The iPhone has one of the best user interfaces we have seen on the market. There are a lot of companies that try to imitate the experience, but Apple has struck a cord with its customers with iPhone’s user interface. Let’s not forget about the fact that Apple controls both the hardware and software side of things. So it has a better chance of providing a more quality experience to its customers.

iTunes may not be perfect but it’s still one powerful store and a great way to go shopping for your iPhone or iPod Touch. The store and Apple’s SDK have allowed developers to make money online and bring their products to the market easier. I have seen so many small developer companies succeed on iTunes, so as long as you have a decent idea that can catch fire, there is no reason small developers can’t succeed on iTunes. You can certainly rely on the iPhone community to help you push your apps and give you feedback.

The main reason Apple has managed to take the iPhone to where it is today is due to the fact that it is not afraid to innovate. Let’s not forget how some ridiculed the idea of iPhone not having a “physical” keypad just 2 years ago. The same people started imitating once they saw what Apple achieved with the iPhone. Apple is not perfect, and it hasn’t picked the perfect carrier for the iPhone. At the same time, the company is always innovating and testing new things. Google and other companies will try their best to derail the momentum that Apple has built in the smart phone market. Any company that can beat Apple in multiple fronts and develop a better ecosystem for its product may have a shot. Market followers will most likely stay followers.
