Spot Robot Dog with iPad for Telemedicine

Robots are already being used to enforce social distancing guidelines and combat COVID-19. Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot dog is now being used in Boston to connect COVID-19 patients and medical staff. It uses an iPad to facilitate two way communication.

Spot is controlled by the doctor outside the patient’s room for health assessment. Researchers are planning to incorporate a thermal camera and other sensors into Spot to check patients’ vitals.
