Plenty of companies are exploring the idea of using robots to give their workers super strength and endurance. Seismic’s Powered Clothing line takes a different approach. It combines robotics with textiles to serve as an extra set of muscles for the wearers. It delivers 30 watts of power to each hip and lower back to support the core and help with standing, lifting, and carrying activities.
Seismic’s Powered Clothing consists of base, strength, and intelligent layers. The strength layer has robotic components on the outer leg that replicate the functionality of muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The intelligent layer is an external pack on the lower back with onboard computer, WiFi/Bluetooth modules, and fully programmable controls.
