Every security expert would tell you that in order to keep your important accounts from being hacked, you are going to need long, tough-to-remember passwords. You also need a way to keep those passwords safe from hackers and crackers. Writing those on a piece of paper is one way of doing it (not a good way by any means). The better option is perhaps using a password manager with encryption. I personally do not store many passwords on my iPhone. If you must, these 6 password managers can help you out:
eWallet: it can keep track of all your important information on your iPhone. It offers 256-bit AES encryption. You can use this to sync up your data with your desktop computer or laptop. It has an intuitive interface too.
My Eyes Only: one of few apps that offer 512 bit encryption for passwords (at least at the time of this writing). This app promises not to send any of your information over networks. You can set it up so it asks for a password at the very beginning.
mSecure: it has great look and feel and 17 types for you to take advantage of right off the bat. Its 256bit Blowfish encryption protects the confidentiality of your data. It has a password generator which is quite nice.
DataVault Password Manager: it can keep track of your bank accounts, credit cards, logins, and more. It encrypts your information to keep all your accounts secure. It includes synchronization via Mobile Me, Webdav, and Wi-Fi with DataVault for Mac & Windows.
Strip Password Manager: works in conjunction with Strip Sync for Mac OS X and Windows to keep your sensitive information secure. It offers 256-bit AES Encryption, Shake-n-Make password generator, and 40 icons for better password management.
Firebox Password Vault: not only works like a charm on your iPhone, it offers two way syncing with your desktop. It takes advantage of CBC-Mode Blowfish encryption and PBKDF2-strengthened 64b keys. The companion desktop app is for free.
If you must put passwords and sensitive information on your iPhone, you are better off using a password manager with strong encryption. Still, you don’t want to store everything on your iPhone. That’s the safest way to go.
