Apple Working on a Netbook-iPhone Hybrid?

There have been rumors about Apple getting in the netbook market for a while now. But till now, we didn’t know too much about Apple’s plans on how it wants to proceed in this market. Thanks to our friends in Taiwan, we now know that Apple is most likely going to introduce a touchscreen netbook. There have also been rumors about Apple introducing a netbook-iPhone hybrid. While these rumors are all very interesting, I believe we will get a device that is somewhere in between.

Apple has acted as if it does not rate the netbook market highly, but it’s a no brainer that we will see a netbook soon. Apple does have too many portable products, and it needs to design its netbook carefully to avoid taking business away from its other products. I doubt Apple netbook will be an iPhone hybrid. That just doesn’t make sense. I do find it feasible for Apple to put pressure on Amazon by putting out a device that not only can compete with Kindle but can do much more. What I am more interested about is to see whether Apple provides application support for its netbook (like it has with the iPhone). One thing is certain though. It will be great to see a Mac-based netbook.
