The world of Apple is truly insane. It was only a few months ago that people were talking about iPad 3 and what features it could have even before iPad 2 was shipping. Now, we are hearing rumors about iPhone 6 with iPhone 5 announcement yet to be made. According to a Japanese newspaper, Apple has contracted Sharp to create screens for iPhone 6. Sharp is preparing one of its factories to develop low-temperature, poly-silicon LCD screens for iPhones.
Sharp’s p-Si LCDs should allow Apple to develop thinner and lighter iPhones. Apple has shown some interest in OLED technology in the past. But so far the company has not used it on any of its gadgets. Considering the amount of competition Apple will face in the smart-phone business in the upcoming years, it is not surprising to see the company working on securing better screens for its upcoming products.
iPhone 6 may not be coming to a store near you till 2012, but you can give yourself some comfort by picking up a white iPhone. White iPhone is expected to be available for sale as early as today. Italian gadget blog iSpazio has already posted an unboxing video for white iPhone. It will be interesting to see whether this device can excite Apple fans at this point.
