A BestBuy document suggests that something big is going to happen on October 21st. Apparently, an Apple fixture will be installed at local stores on that date. This is My Next suggests that the exact same thing happened before iPhone 4 launch.
This is My Next also suggests that a meeting has been scheduled for BestBuy mobile managers on October 10 to prepare for upcoming big release dates. These dates do suggest that an October release is quite likely for iPhone. As 9 to 5 Mac points out, training for the next generation Apple phones has already started in Apple stores.
