It is easy to miss obstacles in your way while distracted with your phone.  Minwook Paeng’s Robotic Eye can help. It is a hazard sensing robot that opens its eyelid when you tilt your head down. The Third Eye can detect dangers up to a meter ahead and alerts you.

This robot eye is built with Arduino. It also has a gyroscope for detecting orientation and a speaker. The above video shows how it works.
