iPhone 6 Concept with Curved Display, iPad 5 Rumor
0Apple is working on new ideas all the time. We have seen many exciting Apple patents in the past few years. Not all of those ideas make it to the market though. It is no secret that Apple has been exploring the idea of making smartphones with a curved display. That does not mean we are going to see one soon. This latest concept is based on an actual Apple patent but does look quite strange.
It is not clear how videos and other content would look like on that screen. Adopting such a different design would be very risky for Apple. While the concept looks sleek, the device pictured about does not seem user-friendly at all. Apple might release an iPhone with a curved display in the future. But it won’t rush it.
Speaking of Apple products, many of us are expecting Apple to release the iPad 5 in the next couple of months. The fact that Walmart and other retailers are discounting current generation iPads does suggest that new models will be released soon. Digitimes, which is not always known for its accuracy, is now suggesting that the production of the 5th generation iPad will begin in July-August.
The iPad 5 will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It will have an iPad-mini like design. Apple did release two iPads last year, so that may have affected its schedule. But we would not be surprised if the iPad 5 debuts sooner than Digitimes is suggesting.
