In case you haven’t noticed, Wimbledon is still going on even though some of the top players have lost already. Tennis can be fun to watch and play. Motion Tennis for iPhone takes iPhone gaming to the next level. It brings motion gaming to your phone using Apple TV. Motion Tennis by Rolocule lets you use your iPhone as a Wii-style motion controller to play tennis.

The idea here is very simple. You can swing forehands and backhands like you would on a court. The app lets you team up with your friends and play as doubles partners. It keeps track of the amount of calories you lose from moving your body. Grass, clay, and synthetic courts are offered. This solution works by taking advantage of Apple’s AirPlay Mirroring technology.

Motion Tennis only works with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPod Touch (5th Generation) with iOS 6.0 and above. Of course, you will need an Apple TV (2G or 3G). The app sets you back $7.99. This does show where Apple could go in the future. We have heard all kinds of rumors about Apple getting even more serious about the video-game business. Allowing developers to come up with games for Apple TV is a good place for the company to start.
