NTU’s Venus Flytrap Inspired Robot with App Control

Researchers are always inspired by nature to come up with better designs. Nanyang Technological University researchers have developed a Venus Flytrap robot that can be controlled with a smartphone. It can work as an end-effector for robot arms to pick up wires or grab delicate objects.

This robotic grabber can grab a wire as tiny as 0.5mm in diameter. The above video shows it in action.
