Gaea Handheld 3D Scanner with App for Indoor/Outdoor Scans

In order to create models of objects around you, you are going to need a decent 3D scanner. The Gaea Handheld 3D Scanner is a neat little gadget you can use for indoor and outdoor scanning. It has an operation range of 50cm to 7 meters. Gaea has 0.5mm accuracy and depth resolution of 1mm.

Users will be able to download the 3D models to an app and display them in AR. The Echo software has noise filtering, meshing, visualization, and measurement tools. The device outputs scans in PLY, OBJ, PTS, XYZ, and other popular formats. You can find out more about this project on Kickstarter.
